Student Wellbeing at Alde Valley Academy
At Alde Valley Academy, student wellbeing is a priority and an essential part of school life. We know that young people thrive when they feel safe, supported, and value, and we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every student can flourish.
Our approach to wellbeing is built around our core values: Aspire and Achieve, Lead with Kindness, and Stronger Together. We encourage all students to aim high, care for themselves and others, and work together as part of a supportive school community.
Every student benefits from our strong pastoral care system, which includes a dedicated Form Tutor, Head of Year, and Student Support Manager. These trusted adults offer daily guidance and are always available to help with any challenges, whether academic, emotional, or social.
We also work closely with the Mental Health Support Team, providing professional support for students who may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, or other mental health concerns. Our School Nurse is also available for confidential health advice and support.
Wellbeing is also promoted through a wide range of sports, enrichment, and extra-curricular activities, which encourage students to stay active, build confidence, explore their interests, and connect with others. These opportunities play a vital role in developing resilience, self-esteem, and a strong sense of belonging.
At Alde Valley Academy, we are stronger together—and we are proud to support the wellbeing of every student, helping them to lead with kindness and aspire to achieve their full potential.
