Getting to School

Travel Information for Students

At Alde Valley Academy, we want every student to arrive at school safely and on time. There are several ways that students travel to and from school each day:

School Bus Travel

Many of our students travel by bus. School transport is arranged through Suffolk County Council.  For full details about eligibility, timetables, and how to apply, please visit the Suffolk on Board website via the link below:

https://www.suffolkonboard.com/school-travel/ This is the best place to find up-to-date information about routes and guidance for families.

Walking to School

A number of our students walk to school. We encourage walking wherever possible, as it is a healthy and environmentally friendly option. Students should take care when crossing roads and make use of safe pedestrian crossings where available.

Students enter school via the side gate accessible from Quaker's Way.

Dropping Off and Picking Up by Car

If you are bringing your child to school by car, please use the Leisure Centre entrance at the rear of the school.

  • Do not use the front entrance for drop-off or collection, as this area must remain clear for buses and staff vehicles.

  • The Leisure Centre entrance provides a safer and more convenient space for parents and carers to drop off and collect students.
